Career Highlights: The career highlight I’m most proud of is not a single moment or accomplishment, but rather the collective impact of working with residents who arrive at some of the most difficult points in their lives — often following hospitalizations, substance use struggles, severe depression, or episodes of psychosis. In that respect, my greatest accomplishment has been successfully working with these individuals and their families to help them access treatment, engage meaningfully in the Ranch Program, and ultimately move forward to live healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.
Community Involvement: My community involvement includes both my work at Spring Lake Ranch and my service on the board of Rutland County Health Partners, which operates the local free clinic. Through the Ranch, I have had the privilege of helping individuals and families access meaningful treatment and resources that support long-term recovery and stability.
Outside of work, my involvement with Rutland County Health Partners allows me to contribute to improving access to primary and preventive healthcare for underserved residents of Rutland County. This dual involvement in mental health and medical care reflects my commitment to strengthening the broader system of community well-being in Vermont.
What motivated you to live and work in Vermont: I came to Vermont for my own mental health and addiction treatment over ten years ago. As an outsider who had lived all over the country, I immediately felt welcomed here and connected to the strong sense of community that defines Vermont. I believe deeply in those values and have now lived here longer than anywhere else in my life. The beautiful setting certainly helps too.
Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is being able to help people, not only on an individual level but also by thinking about mental health care from a systems perspective. I enjoy developing the structures and processes that make meaningful treatment possible and sustainable. Seeing those systems work to improve lives is incredibly fulfilling.
Most inspiring mentor and why: My most inspiring mentor is my father. He is a Navy veteran who went on to become highly successful in business and has always led with integrity and character. Watching him make difficult decisions guided by his values has shaped how I approach leadership and responsibility in my own career.
What is the best career advice: The best career advice I have received is to keep doing the right thing, even when it is difficult, because integrity and consistency build trust over time and ultimately lead to the best outcomes for everyone involved.
What three words best describe you: Three words that best describe me are: Dedicated, thoughtful, and strategic.
Favorite Vermont season: My favorite Vermont season is fall. The colors, crisp air, and sense of transition make it the most beautiful time of year.
Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activity is spending time with my fiancée, my dog Cooper, and my cats Chuy and Canelo, ideally outdoors enjoying the fresh air.
If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support: The causes I would support are Spring Lake Ranch and Rutland County Health Partners. It may be a selfish answer, but I truly believe in the organizations I work for. Both provide essential care and community support to individuals in need, and I am deeply committed to their missions of promoting recovery, wellness, and access to treatment for all.
