Kurt Naser

38 | Director of Preconstruction, PC Construction
Residence: Chittenden

Career Highlights: It’s hard to name just one career highlight. The major highlights are when we successfully complete construction on a project and turn the building over to a very happy Owner.

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes:
– Three season youth sports coach (soccer, baseball and skiing)
– Speaking roles at local development conferences and senate committees
– K-12 and Higher Ed speaker on construction careers and “Why Math is Fun”.

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont: I was motivated to live and work in Vermont because I fell in love.  From a young age, we would travel up from Boston to ski at Killington every weekend in the winter and I loved it. Later in life I fell in love with my wife who is a native Vermonter.

Favorite part of your job: The best part of my job is supporting Owner’s by helping to bring their construction project dreams to fruition.

What three words best describe you: Three words that best describe me are Strategic, Collaborative and Passionate

Favorite Vermont escape: My favorite Vermont escape is the woods during hunting season. There is an old saying that “you carry more weight into the woods than you carry out” and this is especially true. The woods provide time for introspection, problem solving, being present and relaxation. Having no cell service is helpful too.

Favorite Vermont season: Vermont is the home of a true four (maybe five) seasons. While all are wonderful in their own right, winter is by far my favorite.

Favorite Social Media and why: My favorite social media is LinkedIn. I find it very relevant professionally. I post often on it but like to show that we are constructing more than just buildings; we are building communities, relationships and fun connections outside the jobsite.

What one song is on your playlist that are you embarrassed to tell your best friend: Shhh, don’t tell my construction friends but the song on my playlist I would be embarrassed to tell my best friend is “Pink Pony Club”. The best part is my family LOVES when I sing it in the car.

Where do you see yourself professionally in the next 5-10 years: In the next 5-10 years I’d like to continue supporting the state and local Owners through meaningful and needle-moving construction projects. I am most passionate about projects that support our local communities through housing, manufacturing, education and healthcare

Drawing on your experiences, what advice would you give to someone looking to get involved in community service: We’d love to have you volunteer! There are big and small ways to help support your community and you can make a big difference.
