Career Highlights: The career highlight I’m most proud of is working on the successful campaign to amend the Vermont state constitution to protect reproductive liberty for all.

Community Involvement: My community involvement includes advocating for civilian oversight in policing, supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, destigmatizing substance use disorder, advancing menstrual equity, and making our communities safer and more welcoming for all who call Vermont home.

What motivated you to live and work in Vermont: As a born and raised Vermonter, I do this work because I want the community that I have called home for my whole life to be safe and welcoming to all who choose to live here.

Favorite part of your job: My favorite part of my job is that I get to be a part of something that improves Vermonter’s quality of life. I have the immense privilege to advocate and support legislation and efforts that have direct, positive impacts in my community.

Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: Few people know that I love pro wrestling and could write a whole dissertation about how most women’s pro wrestling passes the Bechdel test.

Favorite downtime activity: My favorite downtime activities are reading or going to see live music. My work is very high stress, and I make it a point to prioritize self care so if I’m not reading, I’m going to see live music with my partner.

If you had unlimited access to funds, which cause(s) would you support: The causes I would support would be any that aim to make Vermont a more equitable, welcoming place for all. I’d support anyone advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community, immigrants and refugees, people doing anti-racism work, disability advocacy, reproductive rights advocacy, housing accessibility, and anything else that would create a more inclusive Vermont.

Drawing on your experiences, what advice would you give to someone looking to get involved in community service: You don’t have to know everything to get started. Find something you’re passionate about and keep showing up.
