Benjamin Chamberlain
Favorite Part of Job? Problem solving. Identifying creative solutions. Generally when I build something, I ask myself if it will still be here in 50 yrs.
Most Inspiring Mentor: My father – whom despite my best efforts – set me on my path of building, and has served on the Ferrisburgh planning commission for decades.
Tell us something fun about yourself that few people know: I am an avid online chess player.
Favorite Downtime Activity: Skiing, backpacking & paddling. I’m almost always outdoors.
Favorite Vermont Escape: I live in the quiet rural community of Panton. My favorite escape is to cross-country ski in the woods and fields out my backdoor.
Favorite Social Media: I not really into social media.
Favorite Website: www.flyinghammervt.com
Vermont Business Person you would most want to Network with: David Shlansky, President of Burchfield Management Company based in Vergennes, a local company that preserves & maintains some of the best historic buildings in the Vergennes area.
Career Highlights: This year has been my breakout year, renovating two restaurants in Addison County, a house and other projects.
Community Involvement: It started with Panton’s 250th birthday celebration. I slow-roasted a 300lb pig underground for 18 hours. Since then, I have been an active member of the Development Review Board, Planning Commission, and Town Hall Committee, saving our historic town hall. I have also worked to maintain our town beach and boat access at historic Arnold’s Bay.
